York Peel Feedermain

The York Peel feedermain was a large fresh watermain designed to transport 381 million litres of treated water per day from Peel Region to the neighbouring York Region. The contractor, Dufferin Construction (division of Holcim), required the first pipe in February with completion by October.

In 2004, we were an established gravity producer, but the company had never manufactured pressure pipe. Our successful bid necessitated the design and construction of a new manufacturing facility to produce prestressed concrete cylinder pipe and have the pipe and plant certified for use under the tight deadlines.

For our first job, we supplied 24km of 1800mm and 2100mm diameter prestressed concrete cylinder pipe from our state of the art manufacturing facility, all on time.
